Thankful Poem

 Thankful Poem


 I am thankful for… Clean kātao (water) that can
be used for many things such as drinking,washing
& helping the plants grow. 


I am thankful for…..Having parents volunteering to
coach taputapu tākaro(sports) so they can happen


I am thankful for…..That I get all the supplies
I need to akoranga (learn)

 I am thankful for….All the beautiful koe
(birds) that I can gaze upon.


I am thankful for…..All The Scrumptious kai (food)
that I can easily access.

I am thankful for…..Having to go through no poka
(surgeries) or major injuries.

I am thankful for…..For the challenge of learning how
to kaukau (swim) & be confident in deep waters


I am thankful for…..A loving whanau (family) &
helpful friends

  1. Kia ora Porsha. Well done for completing and sharing your gratitude poem. It was nice to read some of the things that your are grateful for. I have certainly seen your swimming improve in the last two years. I hope this is a skill you can continue to challenge yourself to keep improving on. I liked your use of Te Reo Māori words and your use of some interesting words like, scrumptious and gaze. Ka rawe tō mahi tuhituhi.

    Thank you for sharing your poem, some of the things you are grateful for are on my list too.
    I enjoyed how you also had the meanings in Te Reo Maori and I especially love the picture of the fantail - it is my favourite bird!
